Taraque Masud Memorial
A memorial for filmmaker Tareq Masud, asking how a building could honour someone who thought in frames and cuts rather than walls and rooms — and how it might speak to his personal, social and national concerns at once.
The design treats the memorial as film language translated into brick and concrete: a sequence of framed courtyards, a museum and library, and a circular amphitheatre stepping down toward a reflecting pool — a spatial sequence built and then broken apart, the way Masud constructed and cut a scene.
Behind The Lens
Alongside architecture, he works as a freelance photographer — documenting people, performance and place across Bangladesh, including work with Democracy International, Bangladesh.
